Installation Guide — Allow Unknown Sources

Install in 3 minutes

Android blocks apps from outside the Play Store by default. Follow the steps for your Android version to enable installation.

Download the APK file
Tap the Install NFC Pay button above. Your browser will download nfcpay-v5.0.0.apk to your device.
After the download finishes, a notification will appear in your notification bar. Tap it to begin installation, or find the file in your Downloads folder.

Allow install from this source
When you tap the APK, Android will ask: "Your phone is not allowed to install unknown apps from this source."

Tap Settings in that dialog. You'll land on a page for your browser or file manager — toggle "Allow from this source" to ON.

This permission is per-app. Allowing Chrome does not affect other apps. You can turn it off again after installation for extra security.

Return and confirm install
After toggling the permission, tap Back. Android will return you to the installation screen automatically. Tap Install to proceed.
The install takes a few seconds. When done, tap Open to launch NFC Pay immediately — or Done to find it on your home screen.

(Optional) Revoke the permission
For best security, disable the "Install unknown apps" permission after installation. Go to:

Enable Unknown Sources globally
On Android 6 and 7, the setting is in one central place — not per-app. Open your phone Settings and navigate to the path below:

↑ Toggle this to ON, confirm the dialog
Android will show a warning dialog — tap OK to confirm. This setting applies to all apps on Android 6–7.

Download and tap the APK
Download the APK using the button at the top of this page. When it finishes, open your Downloads app or notification and tap the file. The installer will launch directly.
Tap Install and then Open. You're ready to go.

Turn off Unknown Sources again
Go back to Settings → Security and toggle Unknown Sources back to OFF. This protects your phone from accidentally installing other unverified apps in the future.

NFC Permission Required

The app requests NFC hardware access only. No contacts, no camera, no location — the permissions screen will show exactly this.

No Data Stored on Device

Card data passes through the encrypted tunnel and self-destructs. Nothing is written to your phone's storage.

When a new version is released, the app notifies you in-session. You can always re-download from this page.
